The Carrier Roller, also known as Top Roller or Upper Roller, is mounted above the track frame of the Hitachi ZX240-3 crawler excavator.

Its primary function is to support the upper track chain and maintain correct chain alignment during travelling. By keeping the track chain properly positioned, the carrier roller helps reduce friction, vibration and unnecessary wear throughout the undercarriage system.
